Healthy Cooking Oil – 6 Tips To Stay Fit
June 4, 2010
Taste is meant to tickle the tongue, but food decides our over all health, so it is a must to eat healthy, besides the food being tasty. While there are n number of opinions of the doctors and scientists regarding the fat content of the food, here is one interesting angle of the story:
“Cooking oil is the perhaps the most controversial ingredient of the food we cook as per the health issues. Actually, oil contains high levels of fats. Fats as we are traditionally guided are bad for the body. But many researchers now have come to the conclusion that there are two types of fats : good and bad.
Good fats are the ones found in fruits such as bananas and avocados. There are some types of fats that also help the varied parts of our body like nails, skin, hair, etc. Bad fats that are present in many of the oils, should be taken in as minimum quantity as possible.”
As per this theory, the nutritionists and the scientists say that a healthy cooking oil would have more of the good fats with minimal or no bad fats.
Here are a few guidelines drawn out from the above that help you decide on your pick on healthy cooking oil:
1. High fat content should always be used moderately only. Even if you are using a healthy cooking oil, in case you over load the food with it, you shall gain weight.
2. The key idea is to consume as many calories as you can burn. In case you consume all healthy food, but you do that in excess, and you do not burn those calories, you shall gain excess weight that is obviously bad for any individual’s health.
3. It becomes quite tough to choose the oil you must use. While some are of the opinion that peanut oil is good, some favor canola oil. There are people who think olive oil is a good option, while the rest may call out a fourth name. Well, we suggest you to first discuss the same, take a few opinions, learn from some one’s experiences and then decide for your self.
4. In case many people say the same thing about any given oil that implies that the advice is noticeable. Try to take these opinions from people of different backgrounds so as to be sure.
5. Though, for those who are not trained health nutritionists it might not be easy to understand minute varying differences among different oils, you must try to understand them by reading about those on varied sources like internet & books, etc.
6. In case you are yet not able to make your mind, try seeking for some professional help like asking a nutritionist, personal trainer, or other specialists in the field. Question them on varied aspects of the field like – Which oil do they use? How often do they use it? Exactly how or in what preparations do they use it?
For them, it is a means of seeking business as every satisfied caller would add to their mouth publicity. So, this is a good means of fetching knowledge for your self.

Got something to say?

How can I stay healthy in college?
I’m a freshman, and the freshman 15 is starting to affect me. I feel hungry all the time, and I’m rarely satisfied or full when I do eat, so I keep eating and eating. I’m a very picky eater, but I do try to eat as healthy as I can. I eat whole wheat bread with PB & J, cereal bars, and blueberry muffins often. I don’t cook and I don’t like many fruits and even less vegetables. I love Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. The cafeteria is pretty much the only place I eat at, so it’s hard to eat healthy when its "all you can eat" and they always have good desserts. The exercise I get is walking around campus. I hate exercising, and always find myself too busy. I’ll do Pilates every once in a while, cause I don’t like exerting myself or sweating (cardio). I’m 5′8" and I weigh 120 pounds. Yeah, I’m skinny but I house all my fat in my stomach. I need to gain muscle everywhere, but lose fat there. Any easy and healthy recipes? Exercise tips?
Whilst you continue your present lifestyle you will not improve…you will just gain weight
